More than 10.600.000 people mobilized throughout the national territory to enjoy the recreational and cultural activities that were organized during Holy Week, reported this Monday the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez.
The statements were made in the company of different government authorities, from Plaza Diego Ibarra, where a general balance of the operation that took place during Semana Mayor was offered.
In this sense, he indicated that these data show an increase of about 13% in mobilization, compared to 2023.
"Mobilization in our country increased by 12,63%. A total of 10.621.606 people were mobilized, an increase in national mobilization, which is reflected in economic activity and in the tourism industry," Rodríguez said.
In this regard, he announced that the state of La Guaira was the most visited state, with almost a million and a half tourists who went to the beach, representing 32%.
They are followed by the states of Falcón, Miranda and Anzoátegui.
Regarding religious activities, the Executive Vice President indicated that more than two million parishioners went to churches and temples.
During the day, Vice President Rodríguez thanked the work carried out by the more than 163.000 officials who were deployed throughout the country to guarantee the safety of the inhabitants who decided to enjoy the activities during Semana Mayor.
"We have recognized the officials who played an outstanding role in ensuring peace and ensuring that this Holy Week has been peaceful throughout the country. On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, we thank the officials who were deployed throughout the country," he stated.
Increase in transactions during Easter
During the balance, the Executive Vice President announced a 38% increase in sales transactions developed during the Big Week.
This, Rodríguez explained, is equivalent to 22.667.394 electronic transactions.
"This is important because it reflects the path Venezuela has taken in the face of extremism that has sought to impose its agenda of violence. The response has been the path of peace, of social and economic tranquility, of economic growth, of taking steps toward a future," Rodríguez said.
He highlighted that on average hotel occupancy reached 93% with greater demand in Morrocoy in the state of Falcón, Puerto Cabello in Carabobo, La Guaira, Nueva Esparta, Miranda, Bolívar and Mochima National Park between Sucre and Anzoátegui.
"We are expressing that the Venezuelan people will not give up; they will not join the agendas of extremism, of those who seek to disrupt. Extremism seeks to disrupt the festivities, economic activity, and attack the economy by demanding a stronger blockade. When we look at these numbers, what lies behind them is the efforts of Venezuelans," the Vice President asserted.
Regarding national parks, the Executive Vice President highlighted a 27,7% increase in visits, highlighting the Francisco de Mirada, the Caricuao Zoo and the Warairarepano in Caracas, as well as Mochima in Sucre and the Ana María Campos in Zulia .
For his part, the sectoral vice president for the Development of Socialism, Social and Territorial, Mervin Maldonado, stated that 3.928.598 attended the 120 points arranged in nine cities in the country and the 3.962 communal points.
In that sense, it indicated that 95.978 recreational, cultural, sports and ecological activities were carried out with the participation of 6.280 recreators.
Fewer road accidents
Road accidents were reduced by 33% during the Easter holiday, as reported this Monday by the Minister for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, Remigio Ceballos.
He emphasized that Venezuelans' awareness has led to a "33% reduction in road accidents," which is "very important given the work being done to ensure road safety."
He specified that in the 18 trunks they registered direct assistance with more than 4.500 ambulance transfers and 1.536 road assistance throughout the national territory, as well as at least 6.000 medical assistance.
In addition, 29 people were rescued, there were more than 4.000 direct prevention activities and three people were saved from immersion.
