The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro led the meeting with the National Economic Council which took place at the Humbolt Hotel in Warairarepano, where he announced that Venezuela has 8 quarters of continuous growth.
Maduro reported that the trade sector estimates a 40% growth in its activity this year, "which demonstrates the powerful strength of the national market."
He mentioned some products from the food sector, including oil (101%), pasta (52%), wheat flour (25%), pork (18,3%), chicken (7,44%), eggs ( 7,09%) and rice (8,9%).
Additionally, he reiterated the Executive's support for entrepreneurs as a key element for economic development, always in the context of collaboration between all sectors.
"Sooner rather than later, Venezuela will reach great heights, development, the Venezuela Power of wealth, equality, and well-being," he said.
He said that internal supply remains at 97% and expressed that it is only maintained with national work and production.
"We have made significant progress in economic recovery, in the recovery of the real economy," he emphasized.
Maduro reviewed the 18 engines of the economy, which he suggested be reviewed and highlighted the sectoral and territorial development engines as a new economic model, through the incorporation of the Special Economic Zones (ZEE).
"We have formulated sound policies; we are not mistaken. We have defined four EEZs: Falcón, La Guaira, La Tortuga Island, as well as the EEZ for agricultural production."
"This year, we are reaching nearly one million foreign tourists who have visited the country, and we are developing new strategies to strengthen the tourism sector," the president stated.
