President Nicolás Maduro condemned the confession of former US President Donald Trump about his intention to seize Venezuela's resources.
"Trump has confessed to a crime against humanity against the people of Venezuela," he sentenced.
"They want Venezuela to ask the US for permission to give it a license to produce gas, oil, gold. We are a free, rebellious and sovereign country, we do not have to ask anyone in this world for a license. We are going to work, produce and win new markets in the world above the sanctions, we will not tolerate sanctions and we are going to work, to redouble our efforts, because it has been shown that it is possible, to work, produce, grow and advance, we are building a new path," he said.
“This is the country we want,” he said, highlighting the 54% increase in exports announced by the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Luis Loyo.
"This is the country we want," he insisted. "We want a non-oil country, a country that produces, that exports, that gains markets in the world, that produces and creates wealth to invest in the well-being and social equality of the people."
The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture reported that in this first four-month period of the year, aquaculture production increased by 19% and exports increased by 54%.
Maduro insisted on the need to promote the development of a country that breaks its dependence on oil revenues, "a post-sanctions country that overcomes the evil of imperialist sanctions," he stressed.
“We cannot depend on the North American empire that tries to impose a colonial model on us where they are like the Guipuzcoana, the one that tried to control all the ports of Latin America, the exports of the time: rum, cocoa, cotton, which originated the independence network of America," he recalled.
"Now they are trying to impose a new Guipuzcoan company on us again and I reject it, I repudiate it," he said.
