The Social Cabinet was installed this Thursday in the state of Delta Amacuro during the visit of the Minister of Women, Yelitza Santaella, to the entity, in order to address the priority needs in terms of public services, education, food and quality of life.
The activity was carried out within the framework of the Venezuela Renace Plan and was coordinated by the Social Vice Presidency along with ministries such as Health, Water, Education, Food, Electricity, Communes, Indigenous Peoples and Hydrocarbons.
Following the initial assessment by the multidisciplinary team, health, roads and drinking water were identified as the three fundamental areas to address in the region.
Regarding road infrastructure, authorities will prioritize the repair of the main roads to the north and south of Tucupita, which are severely deteriorated. Although repair work has already begun on several sections, constant rainfall and the area's weather conditions have slowed the progress of the machinery.
Regarding the drinking water supply, the plan includes replacing motors at pumping stations, replacing outdated pipes, and expanding the distribution network. These efforts aim to adapt the service to the rapid population growth that Tucupita has experienced in recent years, which represents one of the main technical challenges in guaranteeing water flow and quality in homes.
Finally, in the area of health, the cabinet would focus its efforts on deploying medical personnel to the river municipalities of Antonio Díaz and Pedernales.
The goal is to provide supplies, medicines, and medical professionals to the outpatient clinics in the canals, areas that historically have greater difficulties in accessing and providing healthcare.
