In a joint concert, the groups Ahora es Ahora and Los Guaraguao offered an afternoon of music at La Casona Cultural Aquiles Nazoa.
According to Johanna Naranjo, director of the national system of popular culture, the idea of bringing both groups together “was to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ahora es ahora, and the 51st anniversary of Los Guaraguao. We wanted to bring them together because they have a history and a political life in the revolutionary process. In addition, it is part of the programming that we have in La Casona for this year”.
Ahora es Ahora, opened the afternoon for almost an hour with his best-known songs, closing his participation with Alma Llanera. The audience that gathered in the gardens of La Casona rewarded them with applause.
A few minutes later, Eduardo Martínez, Jesús Cordero and José Manuel Guerra began their presentation with the cry of “El Esequibo es nuestro”.
His repertoire began with Do not force me. They followed, among others, Canta cantor, Leyenda de Sebastián, Song for Bolívar, Long live the students, Comrade, Los Techos de Cartón and Praying is not enough, where Now is now, and others, went up to sing with them.
Both groups highlighted the presence of cultists such as Noel Márquez and María León.
Likewise, the cultural attaches of Cuba, Haiti and Russia and Ali's widow, Sol Mousett.
The programming of La Casona Cultural continues on Sunday, May 7 with La Cruz de Mayo.
On Sunday the 28th it will close with Las Voces Laughing Carayaca.
