The musical genius of Manuel Herrera Almanza, known artistically as MHA, can be heard on music platforms with the tropical and urban rhythm of "Frío", a single about overcoming adversity from an introspective perspective that combines drill (a subgenre of hip hop) and guaguancó.
This piece is included in his musical project entitled "Cumaco".
According to a press release, "Frío" features very personal lyrics that demonstrate the need to "maintain focus when envy, distractions, and circumstances that can lead you astray appear around you. Personal growth is not presented as an abstract concept, but as a daily decision: knowing who you are and what values support that journey."
The song, also available on YouTube, expresses in its lyrics: “Hard work brings rewards, nothing is easy if you don't even try. So fulfill your dreams and goals.”
MHA champions hip hop to showcase proposals that promote personal growth and social values: “Music is not to blame for the behaviors of society; the determining factor is upbringing at home and the good values instilled from the family foundation,” he stated.
The single blends urban and Afro-Caribbean music through an instrumental created by MHA in collaboration with producers Killzbeatz UZ from Venezuela and Kreatizzy from the Dominican Republic. Built on a foundation of drill and 808 bass, it features live guaguancó percussion, recorded by Adrián Peña, and mixed and mastered by Leonardo Castillo.
