Singer, songwriter, and dentist Amanda Berasmo expressed what her distinction as a Living Cultural Heritage truly means, stating that it represents a direct commitment to safeguarding the roots, educational development, and well-being of her native community.
During an interview on the program Conexión Guayana, he emphasized that this recognition transcends the artistic stage to become a high social and community responsibility of representation and active spokesperson before the country and the world.
In addition, he spoke about the need to keep alive the values of solidarity and belonging that characterize the identity of southern Bolívar state.
“Being a Living Cultural Heritage of El Callao is not just a title; it is a tremendous commitment to my people. It means an immense responsibility to be an active spokesperson for the protection of our culture, safeguarding our traditions, values, and the well-being of our community,” she emphasized.
With more than three decades of experience dedicated to calypso and Venezuelan music, Berasmo also expressed the urgency of promoting the Callao legacy from classrooms and homes, guaranteeing the transmission of knowledge to children and young people, being the key engine for the cultural continuity of the region.
