This Thursday they will present the poetry collection "From the train car"

Trinchera Publishing House invites the artistic community to the meeting "An Afternoon with Coffee and Poetry," where the second edition of the poetry collection "From the Wagon," written by the poet Mariajosé Escobar and published in Mexico by the Verso Destierro imprint, will be presented.

The event will be held this Thursday, September 17th at 4:00 pm at Magnánimo Café y Cacao, located on the Bolívar level of the Mohedano building in Parque Central.

The work, which received an honorable mention from the Fernando Paz Castillo National Poetry Prize in 2022, features a presentation by the poet and National Prize winner Stefania Mosca, José Javier Sánchez, and its cover features an illustration provided by the master Juan Calzadilla.

Referring to the creative process and background of this project, Escobar explained: “This book is a spiritual and imaginary journey through the city of Caracas via the Metro; each poem is one of its stations. It was an experiment that took several years to develop, because the first drafts of each poem were written in the corresponding Metro station. It's a journey through our psyches as Caracas residents into the tunnels of the Metro. Some of the recurring themes are alienation, the crowd, anonymity, but also everyday life with its struggles and the faith placed in Waraira Repano.”

After being promoted internationally at the Bogotá Book Fair and through a tour in Mexico, the literary piece can be purchased in the country through Editorial Trinchera, La Gran Pulpería del Libro, Kalathos and direct contact with the author.
