The Cicpc reported that its officers assigned to the Valencia Municipal Delegation (Carabobo) solved the murder and robbery of José Nieves Bolaños Pernía (76), which occurred in the Las Flores neighborhood, Miguel Peña parish, Valencia municipality, Carabobo state, on August 22, managing to arrest his perpetrators, one of whom was his friend.
A report published on the CICPC's Instagram account indicates that, following the technical-scientific process, it was determined that the victim had been subdued by Edwar Smith Ávila Mendoza (48), nicknamed “El Mon,” and River Raúl Jaime Pinto (63). Alias “El Mon” had planned to rob the elderly man of his belongings, taking advantage of his knowledge of their value, as they had been neighbors for some time.
To do this, this criminal duo savagely assaulted him, tying his hands and feet, then seized valuables and fled aboard a Bera Jaguar 150CC, license plate AB5168A, says the report from the scientific police.
It should be noted that the victim was found badly injured by family members, who took him to a health center, where he died. “El Mon” and River were placed in the custody of the Prosecutor's Office for criminal prosecution.
