A total of 113 people were arrested by state security agencies due to the theft of strategic material from the Compañía Anónima Nacional Teléfonos de Venezuela (Cantv) during the period between January and August of this year.
According to a press release from the telecommunications company, these arrests were made through patrols, inspections, and responding to situations reported by the communities.
These measures allowed the recovery of strategic material from the company during various operations.
In response to these criminal acts, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office, which will carry out the necessary actions to prevent and combat theft, robbery and vandalism against telecommunications infrastructure.
Cantv calls on communities to report any irregularities or damage to the technological infrastructure to the number 0212-5002000 and to VEN 911, thus contributing to the protection of the networks that ensure telecommunications services.
