The Venezuelan singer Valeria Áñez released her second single from the urban genre Do not ask me that, co-written by the artist and producer Benger Vargas. The single features a lyric video made by Armando Rodríguez.
What is "Don't ask me that" about?
The song addresses the couple relationships that start through social networks. On many occasions some people ask you for funny things or ask you for a photo, a video, a kiss or simply your phone number, and from that came this topic. It has happened to me several times, and I know that it happens to many of us very often, not only to artists.
Have you already performed the promotional live?
I recently presented my new single in a venue with live music. That experience was very big and special for me. In addition, in the show I was able to transmit what I like, with a compilation of hits by singers from the reggaeton world. Next year we are going to do a bigger live show with dancers, lights and stage, so that everyone can learn more about my work and my musical growth.
What does music mean to you?
Today I can say that music is everything to me. From the age of 8 I was in piano classes. Then I went on to singing, because I was in tune and everyone liked how I performed songs by various artists, and my parents enrolled me in academies at that time. In preschool I was able to study flamenco, so I was always in the artistic world. I don't see what I currently do as a profession, but singing is my life, it's my passion.
Have you experienced various musical genres?
Yes, so many things have happened in my career that have turned my musical process into a search. I still want to create my style, where I feel comfortable. Currently I am with the urban genre, I like it, but I know that I can also do something in other musical genres.
Do you have an artist as a reference?
Many singers have been references in my discovery process, but I always like to give my best on stage. Artists like Jennifer López and Beyoncé make me want more. A lot of show, very good armed, organized, with choreography, and that is what I want in my career.
Any message for those people who want to dabble in music?
From what I have lived, you can tell people that they want something, is that they always dare, that they study and prepare. Always with disposition everything is reached.
The 28-year-old artist invited the public to subscribe on her YouTube channel and follow her on the networks as @anezvaleriac to learn more about her and her artistic projects.
