It could not be different for the queen of pop. Madonna announced an extensive tour to celebrate her 40-year artistic career, with which she will visit 35 cities around the world, for now.
It was through her Instagram account where the diva made the announcement with a peculiar video. True to her casual style, Madonna is seen with Diplo, Bob the Drag Queen, Judd Apatow, Jack Black, Lil Wayne, Kate Berlant, Larry Owens, Eric Andre, Meg Stalter and Amy Schumer, who challenges the actress to go on tour and perform her mega hits in a nod to the film "Truth or Dare." Without further ado, she accepted.
"Madonna: The Celebration Tour" will take fans on her "artistic journey through four decades and pays tribute to New York City, where her musical career began," according to the artist's website.
"I'm excited to tour as many songs as possible in hopes of giving my fans the show they've been waiting for," said the seven-time Grammy winner.
The interpreter of «La isla bonita», «Frozen», «American Pie», "Like a Virgin" y muchos otros éxitos will begin its journey in Canada, to later visit the United States and then move on to Europe. The tour will end in Amsterdam on December 1st.
Successful and controversial career
You could say that Madonna is like a hurricane: she sweeps away everything in her path. From October 1982, when she released her first single "Everybody", to 2022, when she released the album "Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones", the artist can boast of being the most influential in both music and fashion, as her style has been imitated (but never equaled) by other younger artists and by fans who in the 80s did not miss the opportunity to wear transparent bras as tops, disheveled hair and rubber bracelets in industrial quantities.
Madonna's name rests in the Guinness Book of Records, for selling more than 335 million albums, making her the best-selling female music artist in history.
The Sticky & Sweet tour also grossed $408 million, making it the highest-grossing tour by a woman in history. The book also highlights that the Queen of Pop is the female artist with the most top 40 singles in the US charts, with a total of 46, and that she is the singer with the most remix versions of her songs, with a total of 324.
Madonna is also the author of books
In 1992, she published the book "Sex," which has a high erotic content and still scandalizes the most puritanical people today.
The first day of its release, it sold 150 copies and, according to Rtve, it sold more than 1,5 million copies worldwide.
Those who were able to buy it were able to see on its pages photographs of Madonna as God brought her into the world, courtesy of Steven Meisel and Fabien Baron. Other images show her with other stars, such as models Naomi Campbell and Isabella Rosellini, rappers Big Daddy Kane and Vanilla Ice, gay porn actor Joey Stefano and actor Udo Kier.
The book was a scandal at a time when female pleasure was still taboo. The author of her challenged society and allowed a less harsh vision of female sexuality, while she promised to teach how to have sex.
But Madonna doesn't only write about hot topics, she also has books for children: "The Adventures of Abdi and Lotsa de Casha", "The English Roses", "Mr. Peabody's Apples" and "Yakov and the Seven Thieves.
