The Venezuela Symphony Orchestra (OSV) and the El Chichón University Theater will offer a children's gala this Sunday, at 11 am, in the UCV Aula Magna, as a gift for children on their day.
Dewis Durán, director of El Chichón, stressed that the show will bring more than 160 artists on stage, including actors from the group and musicians from the OSV, who will be under the baton of Alfonso López.
The program begins with the children's symphonic work Peter and the Wolf, by the Russian composer Sergey Prokofiev, with the special participation of the first actor Jorge Palacios as narrator. "In this musical fable each character is represented by an instrument of the orchestra and will be staged by actors from El Chichón."
Subsequently, the Venezuelan Children's Symphonic Suite will be performed, a compilation made by Professor Antonio Khan of well-known themes from our school songbook such as Hymn to the Tree, White Popcorn, Coconut Rice, El San Pedro, Los Chimichimitos, Mare-mare and La Burriquita.
Durán explained that the show will include the participation of a choir of 60 children from the Pedro Nolasco Colón School and the José Ángel Lamas Superior School of Music.
Likewise, lyrical singers Noel Rebolledo and Darlis Cabriles will be invited as soloists, together with the dance group for children Imagiro.
The production of this children's gala for Children's Day is in charge of the OSV and the direction of Culture of the UCV, under the supervision of Trina Medina.
