Mística Núñez shone in the Dances of the World test of Miss World 2026 with a typical costume that paid homage to Josefa Camejo, the heroine of Paraguaná who led the patriotic cause in her province during the Venezuelan independence struggle.
The costume, according to the Miss Venezuela Organization, was born from careful historical research and was conceptualized by the designer Nidal Nouaihed, who captured the essence of the character and local history, which was then "materialized" in the workshop of the designer Carlos Pérez.
The attire, they also point out, is complemented by symbolic elements such as the sword at the waist, the staff of command and a traditional mantilla, key pieces that enhance the posture and character of the Venezuelan woman.
Symbol of courage
"More than a design: it is a living symbol of courage, determination and leadership. Josefa Camejo broke the mold in the independence struggle by leading the Falcón province for the patriotic cause," the OMV highlighted on social media about the design.
"Mística takes up that same torch to bring the spirit of Venezuelan women to the stage of the 75th anniversary of Miss World," the organization added.
In addition to its tribute to Josefa Camejo and Venezuelan women in general, Mística's presentation also sought to highlight the cultural richness of the state of Falcón to the world.
"From Falcón to the world"
Mística's performance in 'Dances of the World' made a splash on social media and received very positive feedback from internet users.
"Beautiful, representing the strength and courage of Venezuelan women"; "She looked impeccable, she enjoyed it and represented her costume very well"; "From Falcón to the world"; "Her energy was everything. Happy and proud, we have a top-notch queen"; and "Wow, spectacular, the best traditional costume personifying the heroine Josefa Camejo in the independence struggle," were some of the comments shared on Instagram.
So far, Mística Núñez has had an outstanding participation in Miss World 2026, whose final will be held this Saturday the 5th.
The young Venezuelan pharmacist will seek that day to repeat the feat achieved by Venezuelans Susana Duijm in 1955, Pilín León in 1981, Astrid Carolina Herrera in 1984, Ninibeth Leal in 1991, Jacqueline Aguilera in 1995 and Ivian Sarcos in 2011.
Among other recognitions that Miss Venezuela World 2025 has obtained, her ranking in the top 6 of the Americas and the Caribbean in the "Beauty with a Purpose" challenge stands out, with her social project Semillas de Vida, focused on combating acute child malnutrition.
