The Safe Holidays 2026 operation is proceeding normally at the land port.

More than 374.000 passengers have traveled through Valencia's Big Low terminal during the school break.

Mayor Dina Castillo reported that within the framework of the "Safe Holidays 2026" operation, there was a 12% increase in vacationers during this holiday period compared to the previous one.

“Our Valencia terminal is registering a high capacity and mobilization, with more than 374.000 people during the current holiday period, with an average of between 8.000 and 10.000 users per day,” he noted.

He stated that the most requested destinations include the plains, Puerto Cabello, and Caracas.

Castillo highlighted that in May, the terminal received the Type A operating license from the National Institute of Land Transit, concentrating more than 96 companies with routes connecting 100 cities in Venezuela.

He commented that the Safe Holidays 2026 operation has the participation of 106 active transport companies at the Big Low terminal that cover 99 destinations distributed on short, intermediate and long routes.

Toxicological tests were performed on transport workers

José Aréjula, coordinator of the Superior Transportation Authority of the state of Carabobo and president of the Autonomous Municipal Institute of Transit and Urban Public Transportation (Iamtt) of Valencia, reported that 60 random tests were applied to drivers to guarantee safe and reliable transportation for users.

“This is the fourth day we have conducted toxicological sampling of drivers, so that we can guarantee the safety of users traveling from our terminal to different regions of the country during this season and throughout the year,” he said.
