Caracas, November 9, 2024. Movistar, through its social arm Fundación Telefónica Movistar, collected more than 800 new toys from its employees for children in vulnerable communities in Venezuela.
The initiative, promoted by the Social Action and Corporate Volunteering Program, brought together company employees in an emotional event held at the Parque Canaima Tower, where the first delivery of toys to children from Aldeas Infantiles de Petare, Hogares Bambi and Fundhainfa took place.
“Christmas calls us to meet again, to celebrate and above all to be supportive, and we are very proud of the response of Movistar employees to help improve vulnerable environments. We welcomed children from Aldeas Infantiles de Petare, Hogares Bambi and Fundhainfa to our facilities to share a different morning in which the Christmas and solidarity spirit was felt in all its splendor,” said the director of Corporate Affairs and the Telefónica Movistar Foundation, Inés Sandra Machado.
In this gesture of solidarity, brand ambassadors also joined in, such as journalists Eduardo Rodríguez, Ana Virginia Escobar, Diana Carolina Ruiz, Alba Cecilia Mujica, Ginette González; sports journalists Humberto Turinesse, Adriana Flores and Marie Ferro; gamers Simón León and FeirlyGab; comedian Manuel Silva and content creator Diego Vallenilla.
The donation of toys will continue in other organizations such as the San Juan de Dios Hospital, Fundana and the Cacique Katia Foundation.
Telefónica Movistar's Social Action and Corporate Volunteering Program maintains an active role throughout the year, with the participation of employees in activities that promote social development. In 2024, 45 volunteer activities have been carried out, benefiting more than 20.000 people throughout Venezuela.
With these actions, Telefónica Movistar reaffirms its commitment to Venezuelan society, promoting initiatives that generate a positive impact and contribute to the social development of the country.
