Following the rainfall recorded since Saturday night, rescue and prevention agencies reported an increase in the flow of the main rivers in the state of Barinas.
According to the Civil Protection report, the most affected municipalities are Bolívar, Pedraza, Cruz Paredes, and Antonio José de Sucre. In response, the Risk Management System maintains a preventative alert and has deployed teams to constantly monitor vulnerable areas.
The commander of the Sucre Fire Department, Roger Useche, reported that the overflowing of the Azul stream caused the Socopó River to rise. He specified that, as of noon on Sunday, the situation remained under control, with only partial flooding reported in homes in the La Victoria and El Libertador sectors.
In the town of Bum Bum, damage was also reported in several residences located in risk zones.
Meanwhile, in the Calderas and Altamira parishes of the Bolívar municipality, moderate rainfall caused an increase in the flow of the Las Doradas and Azul rivers.
Also, in the El Limoncito sector, a high-voltage power line collapsed, while on the road to Mérida, near the La Soledad sector, a landslide occurred due to soil saturation in the high mountains; the road remains open, although drivers are urged to proceed with caution.
In the municipality of Pedraza, authorities remain on permanent alert due to the strong flow of the Batatuy and La Acequia rivers.
