A total of 196 families were affected in the state of Barinas after the intense rains recorded during the weekend, which caused the increase in the flow of rivers and streams in the municipalities of Pedraza and Sucre.
The director of the Autonomous Institute of Civil Protection and Disaster Management of the state of Barinas (Iaproceb), Colonel Reinaldo Sáez, detailed that the emergency contingent reached 192 families in Ciudad Bolivia (Pedraza) and 4 families in the Ticoporo parish (Sucre).
In the municipality of Pedraza, the overflowing of the Acequia River and the Merepure stream flooded areas such as Pueblo Nuevo, Merepure, Aceituno 1 and 2, and Caño de Oso. Emergency response teams assessed 130 homes and provided assistance to a population group comprised of 258 children, 250 teenagers, 224 adults, and 56 senior citizens.

The waters also reached the José Gregorio Hernández Bolivarian School and the Catholic chapel in the area.
Meanwhile, in Ticoporo (Sucre municipality), the rising Socopó River caused localized flooding in the streets La Isla, El Carmen, Libertador and La Victoria, where direct support was provided to 10 people.
Authorities stated that preventive monitoring remains active in the state, although river levels have now returned to normal and the situation in both jurisdictions is reported to be under control.
