To guarantee food sovereignty, the community store was opened in the Ciudad Tavacare urban complex in the city of Barinas to sell basic food basket products at affordable prices, benefiting more than 5.000 families.
With this initiative, the regional government, in conjunction with the national Executive, reactivated the Bodega Plan, which foresees the rehabilitation of more than 1.100 establishments throughout the Barinas territory.
This was stated by Governor Adán Chávez Frías during the opening of the first warehouse in the capital of the plains state, where he was accompanied by the Vice Minister of Social, Industrial and Commercial Promotion of the Ministry for Industry and Commerce, Carmen González.
The regional leader indicated that this project contemplates working together with the people's power, entrepreneurs, private companies and government institutions to strengthen the communal economy and protect the people from speculation.
During the activity, credit certificates were delivered to the first five beneficiary bodega owners, as well as implements and equipment for the operation of their premises.
