327 rescuers from Barinas recognized after their work in La Guaira

With a Medal of Honor for Merit, they recognized the work of men and women who carried out duties in La Guaira after the double earthquake.

After performing rescue, salvage, prevention and assistance functions in the state of La Guaira, a total of 327 officials from different agencies in Barinas were recognized for their work.

The ceremony held at the Colonel Mauricio Encinozo Helicopter Battalion was led by Governor Adán Chávez, the commander of the 32-Barinas Integral Defense Operational Zone, GD Gustavo Enrique Belizario, among other civil and military authorities.

During the event, the Honor to Merit Button was awarded to this first contingent of men and women who were deployed in the areas affected by the earthquake, which occurred on June 24.

The regional government emphasized the value of civic-military-police convergence, represented by the joint action of the people's power, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, and citizen security agencies. In this context, it commended the inclusion of engineering and architecture professionals in the structural assessment of the affected buildings.

He highlighted the operational effectiveness of the response teams and the urgency of deepening continuous technical training to deal with the contingencies arising from the global climate crisis.

"We give well-deserved recognition to the men and women who make up the security, rescue and emergency response forces of Barinas, for their dedication and commitment to our people, especially during the emergency caused by the seismic events of June 24th.

They are indispensable; in difficult times, they are always there: accompanying, rescuing, assessing, caring, and offering hope. Even putting their own lives at risk.
