The Ministry of Health also sent a shipment of 64.000 doses of insulin.

The Ministry of Popular Power for Health has added 90.750 new vaccines to the Immunization Plan in Cojedes state, and also sent a shipment of 64.000 doses of insulin to strengthen prevention and care programs in the state, as reported this Friday by the sole health authority, Dr. Manuel Rodríguez.

The shipment that arrived at the warehouses of the Regional Health Directorate in the city of San Carlos, contained vaccines with doses against yellow fever, toxoid, BCG (tuberculosis), MMR (Measles, Rubella and Mumps), IPV (Poliomyelitis) and Pentavalent (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Pneumonia due to Influenza type B and Hepatitis B), among others.

With this donation, free and timely coverage is guaranteed for the population of Cojedes, especially pregnant women, the elderly and children. “Following instructions from President Nicolás Maduro and under the coordination of the Minister of Health, Magaly Gutiérrez, a rigorous immunization program is being implemented that seeks to reduce the incidence of recurrent and endemic diseases in the most vulnerable sectors,” Rodríguez emphasized.

She emphasized that, despite attempts at a blockade by the North American empire and extremist political sectors seeking to prevent the purchase and supply of vaccines and medicines, "the Bolivarian Government managed to evade these attacks against the population and we will continue working to guarantee the health of the people," the Health Authority asserted.

Rodríguez also highlighted that thanks to the strategic alliances promoted by President Nicolás Maduro with countries such as Russia, China, and India, Venezuela is overcoming obstacles and moving towards pharmaceutical independence.
