With 100% national production on the shelves, the Mercal type 1 of Chabasquén was reactivated in Portuguesa, a supply store that offers the inhabitants of the high area meat products, groceries of different brands, dairy products, fruits, vegetables, produce, personal hygiene items and household cleaning products at subsidized prices.
The establishment, located on Negro Primero Avenue in the heart of Chabasquén, directly benefits the inhabitants of the El Paraíso Commune -1.542 families- with the offering of all the products in the basic basket and a savings guarantee of up to 80%.
According to Norelys García, head of Mercal in Portuguesa, the store is the second Mercal to be rehabilitated in the region and, compared to the private food network, offers people the possibility of saving 69% to 81% per product.
He specified that the premises will be open every day to serve the population of Chabasquén, which has not yet fully recovered from the damage it suffered due to the heavy rains and landslides recorded between June and July last year.
"We are part of the Venezuela Renace project and Mercal is reborn here in Chabasquén to serve our people daily with subsidized prices," he emphasized.
The supply facility covers an area of 262 square meters and reopens its doors with the capacity to store 92,80 tons of food: 91,10 tons dry and 1,70 tons cold.
The opening of Mercal Chabasquén is part of the plan to reactivate the direct distribution and marketing network of food at fair prices, which in 2026 foresees the rehabilitation and activation in the country of 416 type I and II establishments of Mercal and Pdval.
