Portuguesa receives 50% of the pacemakers requested through the VenApp

The devices began to be implanted at the Leonidas Ramos CDI in Guanare

Portuguesa was assigned 50% of the pacemakers requested through VenApp by patients who require the device to regulate the cardiac stimulation system.

"In Portuguesa, we have 84 patients formally registered on the waiting list, and President Delcy Rodríguez sent 50% of the equipment that will be implanted," reported the state's first lady, María Gabriela Gil de Cedeño.

He explained that this special allocation allows a new surgical phase to begin in order to "re-wind those hearts" by placing pacemakers, free of charge.

The implants began immediately at the Leonidas Ramos Comprehensive Diagnostic Center (CDI), providing care this Wednesday, August 19, to patients from the municipalities of Araure, Acarigua (Páez) and Guanare.

According to Gil, with these surgeries "we reached the implantation of 88 pacemakers in Portuguesa in 2026", responding to patients from the different municipalities who made their request in the VenApp and submitted the medical supports to the Directorate of the Guanare hospital.

He also made the phone number 04227103826 available to residents of Portuguesa state so that those who need a device and are not registered can send a medical report and blood test results (complete blood count, blood glucose, urea, creatinine, PT, PTT, hepatitis, VDRL, and HIV). He said that this opens a "window of communication" to expedite recruitment and surgical response.
